Positive Traits: Asmodeus is charming, certainly one has to be as Lust personified. Good mannered, witty and hilarious, drawing in people of all types, able to swindle and sway at a moments notice. He's confident and unafraid, and very flamboyant & flirtatious, very flirtatious. Asmodeus is also friendly, he captures people with that attitude like a siren. Offering them drinks, dance or whatever it is they're lusting for. He's ambitious and intelligent, he runs a whole Ring after all

Negative Traits: However, he's cocky and brash, often ticking off people with his sometimes condescending tone or actions. Not like they can do much about it though. He's gossipy, need to know something? Go to either Asmodeus or Beezlebub. They're the ones people trust the most due to their images. Asmodues can be very judgmental, like he was/still kinda is with his son Oziel's choices in life, such as supporting domestic love. He's also manipulative & possessive, once he has his claws on (or in) another lover, he treats them semi-like a plaything, they're his now, nothing else should be concerned

Asmodeus is also the keeper of the biggest library in all of the Rings, after all people can lust for many things

hi! the conflict between Asmodeus and Raphael in my rewrite is based on a story from the book of Tobit ✌

Raphael accompanied Tobit's son, Tobias, on his journey to another city to recover money from relative (of course, Raphael did not say he was an angel, but he was in mortal human disguise and introduced himself as a distant relative); during their journey with some adventures Tobias married Sarah from Ecbatana, a young woman to whom Asmodeus had some perverse affection and killed seven of her previous husbands right on their marriage bed

thanks to Raphael's advice Tobias drove away Asmodeus who came again (he burned in the room fish liver and fish heart), and Raphael, in turn, chased Asmodeus all the way to Egypt where beat the crap out of him

anyway, Asmodeus didn't bother Sarah anymore and he still avoids Raphael lol

Doodler, my friend! remember how I said I was going to do my own thing with all the ideas I shared on here about heaven/hell character rewrites and shit? WELL. Im investigating the Seven deadly sins, and aparently in the past there were other concepts that could be interpreted as sins too. On wikipedia they're listed as "Historical sins: Acedia and Vainglory. Acedia is like, lack of enthusiasm/willpower and later on got merged with Sloth. Doing some research I foun it's depicted as "A man sleeping next to a bat" on a church on Hungary. Vainglory is, well the excessive belief in one's own abilities or attractiveness to others, once again quoting wikipedia here. It later got merged with pride, but I can see some differences honestly, pride is a more general thing and vainglory feels more like egocentrical, at least in my eyes. I've seen it depicted with mirrors and stuff. I can see them being an interesting thing to add, but there is no demon (think asmodeous, mammon, beelzebub) asociated to either of this concept as far as I can find.

Would it make sense to make Demon Ocs specifically for this sins, or would it make more sense to have them as "demons that died" due to people no longer indulging in the sin or them being merged with Sloth and Pride as time went on? I really want to do something with them. Speaking of the sins, I was wondering if I should go with their demonic names and appereances as stated, or just kinda, do my own thing (like how the Seven deadly sins anime did) and give my sins their own symbology/names outside of what catholic religion did, simply for the sake of OCing them a bit more (Also because the heavenly virtues don't seem to be tied up to any specific angel/archangel..? I've looked in multiple places and they all offer different answers since well, religion is very uh vague with shit at times.) So I'm in development hell, baisically (pun half-intended)

Nice! Lack of enthusiasm and excessive belief in one’s abilities are pretty interesting sins. I can see why they got cut and potentially merged with the other sins. I know Glitz and Glam aren’t deadly sins but seeing mirrors does make me think of them because they are practically identical and user their mirror shtick in the Mammon special.

Regarding the deadly sins’ names do your own thing since you taking creative liberties with it. Personally, I think it would be cool if you combined the elements of demon who died and demon ocs who are sins. If don’t want to combine it, then you can split it since there are a lot of characters.

World/Lore Building - Redoing the Rings of Hell [Pt 2.2- The Pride Ring]

I ACCIDITALLY DELETED EVERYTHING I HAD SO FAR AND ONLY NOW GETTING AROUND TO REWRITING THIS POST SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT AAAAAAAH-!!

Anyways, here's the second part of my Pride Ring rewrite where I plan on talking about the citizens and culture. You can read the first part here along with my general rings post here. Read More under the cut as always because...loooooong

Okay to reblog, feedback and criticism is welcomed.

Part Three: Sinners vs Hellborn designs.

Technically this doesn't necessarily have to do exclusively to Pride more than in a general sense but I always felt it was sometimes hard to tell who's a sinner versus who's hellborn. Not always obviously, but sometimes it can be. To remedy that, I decided that most Sinners will have a more humanoid appearance with some having animal traits depending on where they landed in Hell after they died (ex: Angel Dusk's sin being Gluttony (lust and pride are there too but gluttony won out due to drugs) so he has a few bug like features). Sinners also have some features and hints to who they were like when alive/how they died. I think it'd add some personality as well as a hint to that they're a sinner.

Not all Sinners have animal traits though, but may have something to do with that theme of their sin. I'm still kinda working out the kinks a bit in regard to sinners and I'll likely follow this up with a worldbuilding post in regard to this once I have a basic idea how I want to address this in my story/AU

Hellborn on the other hand will have a lot more animal like or other features that represent the ring's sin. Like Greed will have a lot of themes of reptiles, lizard (and dinosaurs), and foxes while Gluttony will have bug-like citizens. I'll talk about Pride Hellborn in a sec but I felt like I needed to write this part because idk I didn't have anywhere else to put it.

Part Four: Denizens of Pride

Okay, I rambled on enough, let's break this down shall we:

Sinners

Honestly I don't have much to say here that I didn't say above. Not all Sinners in Pride are from Pride being I said in my last post that a lot of Sinners from other things 'smuggle' themselves into Pride or other rings for a better 'afterlife', with Pride being the most 'friendly' to Sinners due to the lax rules and little oversight, causing them to outnumber Hellborn in that region of Hell and leadership doesn't care too much to stop it, even as the other rings do their best to keep the sinner issue from escalating to poor results.

Even in Pride though where Sinner Overlords exist, they are still looked down on by the general Hellborn population as they are still viewed lower in Hell's hierarchy and them taking over the place has left a lot of unhappy citizens, causing plenty to move either out of The Pentagram or to other rings.

General Hellborn

As I said above Hellborn often have a bit of theme in regard to their ring's sin. So in regard to animal traits: Think Lions and Horses (Blitzo must me in heaven lol) along with other prideful animals. As aesthetics go when I think of Pride, I think regal or at the least take good effort in looking presentable; you know, 'I'm better than you in every way' kinda thing. This isn't to say all Pride citizens are the same, let alone...well, prideful. People are people at the end of the day.

The Aerius

Hey, you know those bird people well see in Helluva Boss? Considering that Ars Goetia is a title now in my AU suppose to a type of demon? Yeah the bird people are now their own species/clan that go by The Aerius.

The Aerius are descendants of fallen angels, Seraphim and Cherubim respectfully who vary from royalty to noble ranks, but their are plenty of other aristocrats titles that don't carry much weight. There's even some Aerius that don't have titles or long standing families for whatever reason it may be.

Not all Aerius live in Pride, a few ventured out into other rings such a Wrath, Greed or Sloth. Asmodeus, the Sin and ruler of the Lust Ring, is part of this clan even if he wants nothing to do with them for the most part.

Other notable Aerius are Stolas, Octava, Stella and Andrealphus

Flesh Eaters

Hellborn cannibals. This may just be a place holder name for now until I think of something better but anyways; what it says on the tin. Originally Flesh Eaters ordinated from Gluttony before Hell was what it is today and as time went by, they slowly evolved and eventually adventured off into other rings, though Pride is there biggest community and the only one who welcomes...well let's say likeminded Sinners into their home.

However, it's advise to use caution when entering Cannibal Town or any other Flesh Eater communities. For obvious reasons.

Imps

I don't really have much to say about Imps here being I'll likely talk more about them in my Wrath post but after the War of the Heavens and imps getting more freedom and rights, they ended up traveling and habituating to other Rings outside of Wrath and Pride, which caused them to become more diverse over the generations. A Greed imp have more 'shady' look to them while Gluttony they have a bit more of a bug like appearance.

Part Five: Culture

The culture of Pride is diverse and a well known melting pot of Hell due to the amount of Sinners who 'bought' theirs with them. Earth has plenty of different cultures after all and Heaven judges ALL SINS, no matter how big or small made when alive.

Humans have plenty of different cultures, some still practice their religions and beliefs when they were alive despite everything.

I'm still thinking of Hellborn culture but I do like the idea of Sinmas being a thing where Hellborn will indulge in there Sin depending on the ring they came from. But I need to think more about Pride in general but because it is a melting plot, a lot of things are intertwined with other Ring's cultures.

Hello! I like your rewrite from that Stella and sinner post, it makes them 'stay' in character while giving more depth to their character. If only vzp can write women as much as she did with conventionally attractive men...

If you have total control on H//B's writing staff, what would you change/add/remove?

Many....MANY things.

1) Either rewrite Stolas and Blitzø to make their relationship somehow work, or completely remove the romance element and keep them as business partners with a possibility of then being friends in the future.

2) Give the female characters more development by simply giving them more screentime. LIKE seriously, its not rocket science; there were episodes where the girls should have had their time to shine but were put to the side to either develop the male characters or the main Yaoi ship.

<<<< with a little bit more love and depth, then there would have been no need to give the badass female character a positive pregnancy test because you missed all the chances of giving her a proper arc even after 5 years of the series existing>>>>

3) Establish the rules of the world and stick by them even if they do not benefit the characters. Asmodeous should have received backlash for confessing his love for Fizzarolli; he is the sin of lust, and he spent the majority of his life shitting on romance.

4) If going with the romance route, have Stolas face consequences for cheating on his wife and actually make an effort into building a relationship with Octavia. [ It would be in the same spirit as the series Grace and Frankie]

5) Have IMP actually do their jobs. It would have been really interesting to have the missions reflect the inner conflicts the characters

Ex. In Unhappy Campers, the guy hires IMP to kill his brother who drowned him. However, when they are about to deliver the final blow, the brother, in tears, explains that he never wanted to kill his brother... it was an accident.

asmodeous often re-writes things such as books, online articles, and sometimes school documents that are too hard for iruma and/or clara to read, balam sensei does the same (not just for iruma and clara, but any student who needs so) balam also sometimes asks asmodeous to help him with rewrites, its a very wholesome student-teacher bonding time for the 2

shax loves vocaloids (his favs are len, rin, and meiko) and because of this andro has jokingly bought shax a miku binder, and it has unironicly became his fav binder

balams office is a safe space for the misfits class, whether it be to calm down from a meltdown, to just talk (balam is a very good listener), or to study for a test.

kalego has neurodivergent friendly copies for his class, written/edited by balam himself (why do i hc that these characters need seperate copies from the rest of the school? bc i have autism and dyslexia and i really wish there were seperate copies so i could understand the material better T-T)
